This little porch has become more than just a place to sit. It's where I've watched life unfold one season at a time, reflecting on God's grace in struggles. I've sat here through quiet mornings and sleepless nights, witnessing the wind bend the pines, lightning split the sky, hail pound the roof, thunder roll through these hills, and snow bury everything in silence. I've welcomed the warmth of the summer sun, endured weeks below freezing, stood beneath the northern lights, counted endless stars, and yes...even watched bears wander by in beautiful Montana. Montana has a way of reminding you that you are not in control, a truth life has taught me as well. This porch has witnessed some of my greatest joys and carried the weight of questions I never wanted to ask and journeys I never would have chosen. It has been the place where I've wrestled with grief, uncertainty, disappointment, and waiting. While sitting here, I've brought my struggles before God with more questions than answers, wondering what He was doing when the path ahead made no sense. I didn't come here because I had life figured out; I came because sometimes this porch was the only place I could sit long enough to reflect on my personal faith journey, concentrating on His word over the noise of my own heart. Through every storm—both outside these walls and within them—God has faithfully revealed His goodness. Not because the storms disappeared, but because His presence never did. Many of the reflections you'll read here began in these old wooden chairs. They aren't lessons from someone who has arrived; they're the honest writings of a wife, mother, grandmother, business owner, and woman learning that God's blessings aren't reserved for life's easy times. More often than not, they're discovered amid the wind, hail, lightning, rolling thunder, and in the quiet that always follows. So welcome to my porch. Pull up a chair. Stay awhile. Perhaps somewhere among these words, you'll find what I've learned—that even the hardest roads can still be full of grace.
Pull Up a Chair - Every Friday, I send one thoughtful letter from Montana—honest reflections on faith, family, work, and the quiet mercies God reveals while we're still becoming. No noise. No perfect answers. Just one letter from my porch to yours.
